The College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, Oregon State University (OSU) is seeking applications for a Research Engineer who will design, construct, test, and document mechanical and electrical systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies used in the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI). This is a full-time (1.0), 12-month, fixed-term professional faculty position. The position requires an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with scientists, engineers, and project managers from across the OOI. OSU is embarking on this large scale, multi-year project, the OOI, in partnership with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO). The first five years of this project will be spent in the design, development, testing, and deployment of a research infrastructure, followed by an operational period of twenty five years.
